Camp Leopold PLUS+

Camp Leopold +PLUS is a free, in-school science program fully aligned with South Carolina’s Career Ready Science Standards and made possible through the generosity of our corporate sponsors and donors. Our expert instructors lead engaging, hands-on lessons tailored to each grade level, covering topics like ecosystems, wildlife, and environmental stewardship. With the help of our fascinating animal ambassadors—including reptiles and other creatures—students have a rare chance to interact with wildlife, deepening their curiosity and understanding of conservation.

Class Size

We recommend class sizes of no more than 30 students at a time to maintain a high-quality, interactive experience, but we are flexible and will work with your schedule. Each program lasts between 30 minutes to 1 hour and 15 minutes, and while we offer one program per visit, we are happy to work with multiple groups throughout the day. Let us bring the wonder of Camp Leopold directly to your classroom—at no cost to your school!

All classes are curated to all ages, however some topics are better comprehended by certain ages and their prior knowledge.

  1. Wings Over Water (waterfowl ecology with our live animal ambassadors)
  2. pH Prodigies (basic chemistry with pH experiments) 
  3. Hidden Universe (microscope navigation with experiments with slide making) 
  4. Stronger Together (team challenge games that promote communication, teamwork, and kindness)
  5. Scales and Tails (reptile ecology with our live animal ambassadors)
  6. Human Impact (wetlands ecology with filtration experiments) 
  7. Weather Wise (weather crafts to understand basic weather terms) 
  8. Creatures of the Woods (forest ecology with animal skulls and pelts)
